A few years ago on an art trip to Maine, I serendipitously met Andrew Wyeth -who is known as "America's Painter" -and whose work I admire so much. As we talked I began to understand that his work is also to record the lives and places that are just simple common things that were an integral part of him and his life. We also had other things to share...His father was the renowned NC Wyeth and his son...the remarkable artist Jamie Wyeth. My father was artist and my daughter Susan Patton is a talented artist also. It was truly an honor and wonderful memory to spend time with him and be encouraged by an icon! A truly remarkable encounter! I think of him every day!

Dot Courson says that she has been painting and studying art all of her life. She left a career as a nurse administrator and nurse educator to paint full- time in 2000. She is known primarily for her rich inviting landscape paintings, but her portraits are highly sought-after and her still life painting have won many awards. Her Hidden Creek studio is at her home in Pontotoc, MS- 8 miles west of Tupelo . She and her husband Jackie are now hosting art workshops for artists from across the US.
